Revit Model is more than just Parametric families and elements but most importantly the data involved with the model, Navisworks has the ability to link the model database to the graphical display of the elements in the model , this functionality allows the user to create custom fields where the user can extract any data from the model database














The advantage of this feature is phenomenal, as MEP contractor you are able to locate for instance different pipe sizes in the model or locate specific pipe material in the model

In the data tools window I can create custom fields





















I can map the fields in Navisworks to the same fields in the Database

I can write SQL statements to select the different information that I want to display as custom fields
